The former president of Singapore’s Sharia Court, Mr. Abu Bakar bin Hashim, found the Silaturrahim Tour so meaningful, that when he returned to Singapore he sent his son, Mohd. Matin, to stay with a Muslim family in Xian for two months. This is truly Silaturrahim at work!

Peter Sanders, a British Muslim, joined the Silaturrahim Tours for 2 weeks, June 2000, after which he launched an exhibition of his breathtaking photographs of China Muslim in Bradford. He commented, "....fascinating, more than I expected and so much was crammed in to  such a short time, a wonderful experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has never been to China before.."

"Liyana and myself were very blessed to have the opportunity to join you in this trip. We believe that a similar experience (i.e.Silaturrahim, visiting the madrasah & orphanage and performing charity work in the name of Allah S.W.T.) would not be possible with other commercial tours. We strongly encourage and will always support you in your charity work, Insha’allah! May Allah bless you and give you guidance.

Wassalam"

"Salaam Alaikum,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for taking me on your trip in Xian and allowing me to experience and record the muslim villagers, children and mosques there. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would love to do it again (in full) some time in the future, Insha-Allah. May Allah reward you for your intentions and efforts.

Finally, I hope the children at the Muslim orphanage have benefited from your contributions and that the children from the village you took there are enjoying their stay. Please keep me informed of their progress.

Shukran for now."

"Salaams,

the China trip is still a vivid memory. China itself was a wonderful revelation, dismissing all the stereotypes that we build in the West. The Muslim community seems to be alive and well and practising their religion and culture. The organisation of the trip was outstanding. The accommodation was great, the guides were knowledgeable and helpful. Food was good quality. I fully recommend this trip - it is an eye opener, memorable and just a great holiday!"

"Just to let you know, how much I appreciate the trip you arranged to Beijing & Inner Mongolia recently. It was a wonderful experience. The group had a great time. The hotels were very comfortable. They looked more like five-star hotels rather than 4-star hotels. I guess we were lucky. Throughout the journey, the food was really good, except we needed more Singapore-type of hot dishes. I guess in future, you may want to remind those following to bring along their own sambal. You know what Singaporeans are like, food is important. I particularly liked the shopping. It was super. So many things to buy. And the shopping centres >in the itinery were fabulous. I regretted not bringing more money. There were so many things to buy, particularly genuine Chinese silks. Your tour leaders were very helpful. Thank you too for arranging the visits to some of China's historical places. which previously I only manage to view from poscards, such as the Great Wall of China, the Summer Palace and the old mosques. The visit to Inner Mongolia was memorable. It made me realise how lucky I am living in Singapore. I thought the price of your package was very reasonable."
