Silaturrahim is an Arabic word meaning bonding or close ties. Our SILATURRAHIM TOURS are therefore not just ordinary tours where one takes in the sights and scenes of the country, but meaningful and memorable journeys that help to promote cultural and educational experiences, establishing lasting bonds of friendship, compassion and understanding between Muslims.

The SILATURRAHIM TOURS were conceptualised in 1994 by Brother Jaafar Mah, a Singaporean Chinese Muslim, who saw the need to provide a niche service to Muslims who would like to tour China on a holiday and to network with Muslims in China. We have an experienced and dedicated team of Muslim managers in the travel industry to organise our tours, to look after the special needs of Muslims and to ensure the best quality of service. Since 1994, we have been managing such tours for Muslims all over the world.

We are different from ordinary tour agencies because:

• We are charity-oriented.
• We channel proceeds of our tours to community service projects.
• In 2002, we have established the first Muslim NGO, the ZJC Charity Service Centre in Gansu Province–one of the poorest regions in China. A second NGO was established in 2006, Xiji Charity Services, in Ningxia Province. These two organisations manage our educational and social welfare projects in China.

Our tours span the following regions in China:

BEIJING
Great Wall of China, Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Niujie Muslim District, Dongsi Mosque, Haidian Mosque, Muslim kindergarten, Silk shopping and acrobatics show.

XIAN
6000 Terracotta warriors buried during the Qing Dynasty more than 2000 years ago are now unearthed. Great Mosque of Xian. Hot springs of Huaqin, madrasah, kindergarten, shopping for local foods and artifacts.

INNER MONGOLIA
Capital – Hohhot Xilamuren Steppes (Horse riding, wrestling shows). Mongolia – overnight stay in Mongolian yurts, Mountain scenery, madrasah, Muslim kindergarten, Shopping streets and the Mongolian Great Mosque.

YUNNAN
Kunming – Shopping streets, Stone forest, madrasah. Lijiang – Snowy mountain, ethnic cultural shows. Shangrila – Tibetan autonomous region, Haba Mountain.

THE SILK ROAD
Gansu – Xi Guan Mosque in Lanzhou, Linxia the Mecca of China. Xinjiang – Great South Mosque in Urumqi, Enim Minaret in Turpan, Sunday Great Bazaar and Abakh Hoja Mausoleum in Kashgar.

GUILIN
